Welcome to the first citizen-inspired foundation in the State of California dedicated to the support of its local fire district and emergency medical service.
Rescue 1 Foundation was established in 1977 as a non-profit, philanthropic organization to receive and administer contributions in support of our district’s paramedic programs and to purchase equipment for our emergency ambulance service.
The Foundation has administered funds to aid the Fire District in predicting wildfire scenarios, provided portable command system hardware for Battalion Chiefs and engines, and streamlined evacuation procedures.
We are about supporting our First Responders
Through this unique support program, we help to improve our paramedic program and attendant ambulance services, which are so vital to the welfare of all residents of Moraga and Orinda.
The Rescue 1 Foundation has invested over $585,000 of community donations for the purchase of supplies, training, and equipment — such as the LUCAS device / chest compression system, Pulse Oximeter, LifePak, Stair Chair and Stokes Litter Harness Tie-in System..
